The region sees the soaring UNESCO World Heritage Tramontana mountains cascade into the azure Mediterranean as well as the quiet hinterlands heading to the centre of the island. It is home to pretty towns like Pollenca and Alcudia and excellent beaches. Across the region there are numerous picnic spots. Some are places where you can just pop down a blanket, but there are also many with facilities including picnic tables and even playgrounds.
