Best mountain view picnic spots

On top of everything else, Mallorca is blessed with the World Heritage listed Tramontana Mountains. Rising up to 1,445 metres above sea level, the mountains dominate the Mallorquin landscape. Minutes away from the coast and it can feel like you are in the Alps. Within the mountains are many cool, peaceful and spectacular picnic spots. The majestic Serra de Tramontana Mountain range in the north west of Mallorca has been named by UNESCO a world heritage site. It hosts an array of hiking and cycling routes attracting those who love the great outdoors. This means recreational areas are in abundance and they accommodate your every need for a picnic. The Pollenca-Lluc-Soller Road

This road is a must-drive for anyone visiting Mallorca with a car. The drive is stunningly beautiful and there is much to take in along the way. As you drive from Pollenca towards Soller there are a number of locations we have picked out, but there are also numerous dedicated picnic spots with tables and facilities at various locations. The Sanctuary of Lluc

The Sanctuary at Lluc is a quiet place with set amongst the peak of the Tramontana. There you can visit the Renaissance style Basilica, the museum, and the gardens. There is lots of parking and numerous short walks to take in the mountain views. There are also several picnic areas with tables and benches and two playgrounds for children.

Sa Bassa

Sa Bassa is a recreational area just off the mountain road that links Sóller to Lluc. It has stunning natural surroundings with rocks, boulders and pine trees skirting the area. It’s a popular spot for camping, so picnics are more than comfortable here. There’s even a little playground and sandpit for the children to enjoy, so it’s great for a family day out.

Binibona

This small town is located in the heart of the Tramontana Mountains and offers several scenic picnic spots. You can park up and wall around the whole town easily. There are mountain views in most directions and you can simply chose the spot you like best to relax and enjoy the village ambience.
